Earlier phones were a luxury but as soon as its demand increased a lot of new manufacturers entered into the market ending the luxury tag from mobiles. Firms like Nokia, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and others moved their heads towards the large mass and offered phones within the reach of the common users. But still there was a category in the cell market which was untapped; the market of cheap phones and recently the major cell makers developed cheap phones to cater that market.
